There are five new cards in the Playoff Underdogs promo, but which ones are the best? Here, let’s take a look at the three best Playoff Underdog cards in NBA 2K21.
Jamal Mashburn
Former Charlotte Hornet Jamal Mashburn is the third-highest rated player in this promo. He was a solid starting NBA shooting forward and, for his career, managed to average a little over 19 points per game, which is no small-time feat.
Mashburn (91 OVR) is a good all-around player, as his Playoff Underdogs promo card is equipped with strong Inside Scoring (A) and 3PT Scoring (A) attributes. As a pro, Mashburn was an impressive scorer who twice hit better than 40 percent from the three-point range. He was a valuable starter for 11 years with the Mavericks, Heat, and Hornets but made just a single All-Star appearance.
In addition, Mashburn has the potential to be a solid defender in 2K21, as his B+ Rebounding rating and 6’8″ frame should allow you to get a good amount of defensive rebounds.
Kyrie Irving
The Brooklyn Nets have their best chance of success for a long time, with Kyrie Irving leading the way. Irving has some of the best handlings and creative play-making the league has ever seen, and because of that, he has a 90 overall in NBA 2K21. He’s a solid shooter who will ultimately make his mark as a distributor and paint attacker.
Irving is one of two Diamond cards in this promo, and at 93 OVR, it’s one of the better ones you will find among point guards in 2K21. The card includes 92 Playmaking, 91 Outside Scoring, 84 Athleticism, and 63 Defending. He also has 29 Gold Badges, including Acrobat, Relentless Finisher, Pro Touch, and Consistent Finisher. Irving’s special card has exception shooting ratings (A+ Inside Scoring, A- Mid-Range Scoring, A+ 3PT Scoring), and the perimeter defense on it isn’t too bad, either.
All in all, this is a great item to pick up if you need a perfect point guard. He has also undoubtedly the best handles of the current crop of NBA players – maybe even the best. Just make sure you have the mt NBA 2k needed to get it.
Dikembe Mutumbo
Nearly every NBA fan of a certain age knows about Dikembe Mutombo‘s iconic finger wag. For almost two decades, it was his calling card after a block. And he had plenty of opportunities to do it.
Mutombo trails only Olajuwon in career blocks. He had two seasons with more than four blocks per game, eight seasons with at least three blocks per game, and 11 seasons with more than two blocks per game.
The 7’3″ big man has the ratings you would expect out of the former NBA legend. Mutumbo’s card has exceptional Inside Scoring (A+), Post Defense (A+), and Rebounding (A+) attributes, meaning that this 93 OVR card should be a force inside the paint.
Mutombo gets 93 Rebounding, 82 Defending, and 82 Inside Scoring attributes. Among his 21 Gold Badges are Brick Wall, Rebound Chaser, Intimidator, and Defensive Leader, as one might expect.
For a decade-and-a-half, the four-time Defensive Player of the Year dominated the interior. And he eventually became a model for stars transitioning to role-player status.
The Playoff Underdog cards also join Ruby Stephen Jackson (88 OVR) and Ruby Tyson Chandler (88 OVR). Fortunately, visit here to get more game updates, guides, and tips.
